Cat flaps can have visible gaps around the door. Covering the whole unit adds another barrier to draughts and wasted heat. The cover is not sold as an airtight or insulated product.
Some cats learn to paw at or operate their flap’s locking controls. Covering the flap helps block access and discourages repeated escape attempts. It also hides the view through a locked flap – which can help reduce scratching, meowing and frustration.
The frame stays fitted while the panel slides vertically out from above. There’s no need to repeatedly remove the whole cover for everyday use.

The snug-fit outer frame is designed to stay fitted to your cat flap. For everyday use, you simply slide the front panel down into the built-in groove to cover the flap. Lift the panel straight back out when you want to use the cat flap again.
